elections would hold in 378 wards across the state and that only the councillors
would be elected during the poll because the state would use parliamentary

commission was conscious of the stipulated 90 days notification and the date of
the election was unanimously picked by the leaders of political parties during
a meeting with the OSIEC officials.
Oladitan

the state to enable the commission achieve a successful poll.
He
explained that local government elections could not take place in the state in
the last 10 years owing to litigation and that the cases have been resolved.
He

because the litigation has been cleared and that the commission is set for the
elections.
The
Chairman of the commission noted that the commission would not collect money
for nomination from candidates but the political parties would pay certain
administrative charges to the commission.
Oladitan
